Dr. Jim Greene received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. While in Huntsville he worked on joint venture projects between private and public sector entities. One such project was a communication satellite which is still in orbit today.
He relocated to be with his then fiancée and now wife. The move provided him with the opportunity to work at different engineering firms, where he designed projects in the telecommunications and healthcare industries. Due to the critical nature of these businesses, he gained experience on how things should operate during emergencies.
He and his wife moved back to his hometown where Dr. Greene became president of a company started by his father. The company specialized in equipment in the Water and Wastewater sectors. They expanded and also designed and constructed remote location solar units and built the first Electric Vehicle charge station with integrated solar in the eastern United States. The project won the State Association of Energy Engineers award. Since becoming president, the company has been recognized for multiple years as one of the “Hot 100” companies in the state and gained national acknowledgment as one of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the nation for five consecutive years by INC magazine.
Additionally, Dr. Greene has been recognized as “Top 20 under 40” by Engineering News, which is a list of 20 individuals under the age of 40 who represent the “Best of the Best” in the design and construction fields. He was elected and served on his local school board for eight years. During that time he was also appointed to the Federal Relations Network to lobby on the federal level for the state school system.
