Kelly Brewer
Kelly alias Nite
Kelly has a degree in communications so she definitely watches movies. She has been known to watch a particularly gruesome scene and while other people are groaning she says “Wow, nice editing job”. She supports independent film-makers with her opinions and her pocketbook. She also reads a lot. Finding new writers to support is always a pleasure. Her post-apocalyptic areas of specialty are dystopian / false utopian futures, zombie invasion, alternative history apocalypse, global disaster, mass media theory and criticism. She claims she has no real talent of note except that she sees pretty darned well in the dark, thus her name Nite.
Kelly considers herself one of the most offensive drivers she knows, which is why most people will not ride with her. She would love to own a car like they had in Death Race.
Father, grandfather, AND great-grandfather were all three caught in and survived two different major hurricanes. Don’t follow her around, she might be Lady Apocalypse.
Shannon Chesnut
After taking a year break from staff so as to better enjoy Dragon Con, she realized the massive error of her ways (and how difficult it is to actually get into parties without that clever little staff ribbon)
and is returning to the Apocalypse Rising Track for her third year on staff. She is beyond excited to be back and is
looking forward to an amazing year full of zombie wrangling, cozying up to survivalists so that she can survive when the
end comes, and trying to figure out how to turn the microphones on without deafening a room full of people. This will be
her 8th year attending Dragon Con and she feels that that, along with her 6 years on staff and the fact that she has
willingly lived in the greater Los Angeles area for almost 8 years, more than adequately under-prepares her for any and
every challenge and/or apocalyptic event.
Melissa Sleeman
Melissa - served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force with war-time mission being Mobil Air Evacuations and mass disaster preparedness. One year of Outdoor Ed class (surviving in the Michigan wilderness...yes, there still is some!) Ever since viewing the movie "The Day After" when she was a child, has had the occasion to be 'aware' of trends/behaviours around the world.
Likes: Mad Max, real-world survival planning, Star Wars...was a "Door Sith" for the AR track in 2008. Dislikes: anti-weapons people, sissy-mary prissy-pants Jedi.
Chris Fishburn
Chris Has gone into his second year as a staffer still refusing to write a bio. You have my permission to give him a hard time.
Tiffany Thrift
Tiffany considers herself semi-prepared for anything, including the apocalypse, by keeping canned soup, blankets and a baseball bat in her car at all times. She is a computer programmer, but hopes to one day leave the 'glamorous' world of technology and become a high school sociology teacher. She enjoys television marathons, zombies, red tulips, day-old macaroni and cheese, and a good foreign film. She is annoyed by bad drivers, the fact that Spiderman is such a wimp (even as a zombie!), and her inability to squeeze the cost for construction of a bomb shelter into the yearly household budget.
Sean Dickman
Sean is a DragonCon noob. It's his second year and he's jumped at the opportunity to participate as a staff member for the Apocalypse Rising track. Sucker! Don't treat him too bad. He does bring a wealth of experience from his years with Zombie Squad. He's been active with ZS since 2005 doing a variety of tasks from being the ZCon sherpa to serving as treasurer for the St. Louis chapter.
It takes a special type of zombie movie to keep Sean interested. Zombies make great targets but are terrible lead characters. And don't get him started on zombie sharks, sheep or other assorted wildlife! Some of his favorite zombie movies include Night of the Living Dead, Zombieland, Wild Zero, Special Dead, and naturally Shaun of the Dead.
Sean has taken the ZS motto of "If you are prepared for Zombies you are prepared for anything" to heart. He is very active in Yoga, ham radio (KD0BWU), gardening, cycling, cooking, traveling, and first aid training. He's looking to get his wilderness first responder but the best opportunity for the class overlapped with DragonCon. And you know, priorities are priorities!
Samantha Zuniga
Samantha also goes by Sam, and actually prefers it. She is a native Texan, born and raised just south of Houston. She has survived 3 major hurricanes in her lifetime;
one of which was in the last year. Which also is her only claim to knowing anything of relevance about the apocalypse.
This is her 6th year going to con. Her 5th year working. And her 3rd year on the AR staff, with a break from staff to enjoy the con. She loves sports; movies; music; the end of time discussion. You know, normal stuff. She has worked with children with special needs for over 5 years, and is currently working on her degree in psycology.
She can be very random. She quotes movies all of the time.
She is also the webmiss. So if there is anything at all wrong, it's not her fault.
